Telluride Land Works has been dedicated to be the premier landscape company in Telluride for 30 years. When Matt Alfermann and Heather Boucher bought the company 2019, they were committed to keeping the companies high standards as they increased the companies’ reach and services. Today, the company has grown substantially and has attracted the most knowledgeable landscape professionals on the western slope to staff the companies (4) divisions.

The company strives for excellence in all aspects of its operations, including clear and transparent communications with customers. The company’s team of professionals strive and demand excellence in its operations to provide quality beyond expectations. Over 90 percent of new business comes from referrals.

Frankie Averill

Office Administrative Support at Telluride Land Works/Telluride Snow Removal

Frankie Averill grew up in the Midwest and moved to the beautiful Western Slope in 2017. Since then she has relocated back to the Midwest and makes regular trips back to beautiful Telluride to work in the office. In her remote role as an Office Administrative Support she wears many hats including actively works with the Matt in the Construction division, acts as our Accounts Collection Manager working closely with our clients to keep accounts current, and of course providing excellent customer service. Her extensive background in accounting and customer service has been a great asset to the team.

Frankie’s hobbies consist of hiking, backpacking, adventure challenges, spending time with family and friends as well going on adventures with her husband. She has completed the Colorado Trail, a 486 mile backpacking trail that goes from Denver to Durango! Her favorite part about this area is all the nature Telluride has to offer. There isn’t a hiking trail that she doesn’t like. She loves to try new foods, although her absolute favorite is Brown Dog Pizza. Whenever she has family or friends in town with her, she is sure to take them there!

Julie Hauser

Landscape Designer at Telluride Land Works/Telluride Snow Removal

Julie Hauser grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of Washington State, where her love for the outdoors sparked a lifelong passion for landscape design. After earning her certifications in horticulture and landscape design in Washington, she moved to Colorado in 2006, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in crafting extraordinary outdoor spaces.

Julie’s design philosophy is rooted in her desire to connect people with nature by transforming ordinary spaces into creative, interactive environments that inspire exploration and joy. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the harmony between functionality, artistry, and the natural world.

Eager to embrace her adventurous spirit, Julie left Colorado’s Front Range for the breathtaking landscapes of Telluride. Serendipity struck when she was offered a position at Telluride Land Works—a dream opportunity that allows her to design stunning landscapes in one of the most picturesque regions of the country.

When she’s not designing, Julie can be found exploring the great outdoors with her husband, pursuing their shared love of rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, and running. Her passion for nature and adventure is the heartbeat of her work, making each project a reflection of her vibrant and active lifestyle.

Tanya Kennedy

Office Manager at Telluride Land Works/Telluride Snow Removal

Tanya has been working for Telluride Land Works since March of 2008. Working with the wide variety of customers on a daily basis is what she enjoys most about her job in addition to the team spirit of our employees. Because of this amazing culture she is able to currently work remote as the Office Manager. Tanya hails from the Great State of Nebraska, but has been a Colorado native for the past 23 years. The Huskers will always be her Favorite Team, but when she’s not watching Husker Volleyball or Football, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 7 grandchildren. She loves planting flowers and gardening, and antiquing with her husband.

Katy Maurer

Office Administrator at Telluride Land Works/Telluride Snow Removal

Katy Maurer came to Telluride from the Chicago area. Her parents moved to Montrose shortly after she graduated college, and after a few years of frequently visiting the area she decided to make Colorado her home. Being from the flatlands of Illinois, she was drawn to the mountains and focused her job search on Telluride. She brings years of experience in customer service and office administration work from working in a popular Midwestern hardware store chain and in the corporate office of an international grocery store. This experience tremendously helps in all aspects of our company and supports our operations to run smoothly. In her downtime Katy enjoys exploring southwestern Colorado, reading, hiking, and running. She loves Telluride’s history and enjoys the beautiful scenery, especially the Bridal Veil trail. Some of her favorite establishments to frequent include Brown Dog Pizza and Between the Covers bookstore where she continues to purchase more books that simply won’t fit on her shelves anymore.

Kathleen Negrete

Account Manager at Telluride Land Works/Telluride Snow Removal

Kathleen Negrete grew up in the Central Valley of California and later attended San Jose State University. Not long after graduating with a degree in Business Administration she left for Denver, CO to pursue her career in the tech industry. Over the next several years her passion for the outdoors and landscape design grew beyond just being a hobby as she began pursuing her second degree in Horticulture Science at Oregon State University. She’s been loving the pivotal change in her career and has finally landed permanently on the Western Slope with her family.

Collaborating with the staff and clients at TLW is an absolute dream come true for her. Nothing beats the gorgeous views, the beautiful landscapes, and the clean mountain air of Telluride. One of her favorite restaurants in town is the Smuggler Union for their relaxed atmosphere, beer, and fish & chips. When she’s not working you can find her spending time with her husband and son at home, attending rodeos and festivals together, and always working on the yard.

Debra Woodard

Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable at Telluride Land Works/Telluride Snow Removal

Debra works as our Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable and brings more than 20 years of accounting experience to the team. In addition to her own bookkeeping business she helps us with invoicing and provides other financial services for the CFO and owners. She loves working for Telluride Landworks and loves being part of this amazing family. Riding the gondola is her favorite activity to look forward to when she visits Telluride. Currently she resides in Pensacola, Florida with her husband and two sweet dogs. She has two grown daughters and two amazing sons-in-law, and in her free time she enjoys sitting on her swing in the backyard while watching her dogs run.
